Waxing Aftercare

Here are some top tips for waxing aftercare...

Please note: You may go away sporting the plucked chicken look, this and some slight soreness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

It's important after waxing that you follow my aftercare advice.

Think of it this way, your spending your hard earned cash on this so you want the best results.

Following your waxing treatment you need to keep the area nice and clean,

this means for the next 24-48 hours you need to avoid:

* Sunbathing, sunbeds and fake tan

* Gyms, exercise in general and swimming pools

* Hot baths or showers (warm water is fine)

* Jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas - it's hot in these places and bacteria LOVES hot & steamy

* Scented products including deodorant

* Touching the waxed area

Remember your follicles are exposed and therefore prone to infection, so as a rule of thumb if you wouldn't put it on an open sore don't put it on a waxed area.

Gentle body brushing or exfoliation before baths and showers is a great way to keep ingrown hairs at bay. You can start this a minimum of two days after your appointment. Please don't go mad and scrub yourself raw as not only will this hurt quite a lot it can make ingrown hairs worse....Gently does it!

Regularly moisturising the area will also help, if its intimate waxing you have had just make sure you are using a cream that's not going to aggravate your bits...they are very sensitive. Post waxing products are available to buy from the salon these range from full blown aftercare kits to single products including exfoliators, moisturisers, spot treatments (for those stubborn ingrowers!) and hair retardants to slow down hair growth.
